The 23.5m diameter main dome of the Blue Mosque in Istanbul is raised 43m above the ground on massive columns. Height of the minarets is 64m. The resulting large internal volume is further emphasised when one enters the building. Scale is the prompt on the Weekly Photo Challenge this week, and images of the Blue Mosque are my response to the prompt….
