I guess this is pretty late to post something to this prompt, but maybe its better late than never 🙂
When I saw the prompt “gaudy” on Ailsa’s http://www.wheresmybackpack.com, I had an idea to post some images of the new year minstrels carnival in Cape Town. When I looked up the word “gaudy” in an online dictionary it said “implies a tasteless use of overly bright, often clashing colors or excessive ornamentation” which led me think that these images may have overly bright colours, sometimes clashing colours, but they were definitely not tastelessly used. In fact very appropraite for a minstrels carnival.
